Phoenix groaned in pain as she awoke. Getting up, she noticed that she was in a large field of flowers, stretching as far as the eye could see.

"Where am I?" Phoenix wondered, looking around.

Off in the distance, something caught her eye in the field. Quickly running over she found Sailor Jupiter lying down in the flowers, unconscious.

"Jupiter wake up!" Phoenix said, shaking her.
"Phoenix?" Jupiter murmured, slowly opening her eyes, "What happened?"
"It looks like we're in Nehelenia's realm, where, I'm not sure." Phoenix replied, helping Jupiter up.
"How are we going to find Sailor Moon in this place?" Jupiter asked, looking around.
"Simple, pick a direction and follow it." Phoenix replied.

Without waiting for an answer, Phoenix took off at a quick sprint. Jupiter groaned, and quickly followed behind. The two ran at the same pace, which surprised Phoenix.

"Amazing, she runs at the same pace as I do." Phoenix thought, "Not to mention she can fight nearly just as well too."

They ran for what seemed hours before Phoenix spotted something in the distance. As they got closer, they saw Usagi sitting in the field, and Nehelenia floating above her. Phoenix pointed Jupiter to Usagi, as she took out her daggers and ran at full speed. Swiftly and silently, she snuck up on Nehelenia and when she was close enough, jumped, aiming her daggers right for Nehelenia's back. Just before her daggers could hit their mark, Nehelenia moved out of the way. Before Phoenix could react, Nehelenia shot black lightning at her, sending Phoenix crashing into the ground.

"Jupiter Oak Evolution!"

Jupiter's attack distracted Nehelenia enough for Phoenix to get up and recover.

"Followers of the White Moon Princess, so good of you to join me." Nehelenia said.

Jupiter ignored Nehelenia and ran over to Usagi's side. She noticed that Usagi had a blank look in her eyes, and moved about as if she was listening to someone.

"Usagi! Snap out of it!" Jupiter shouted.
"She is trapped in such a lovely dream. It would be a shame to wake her up." Nehelenia explained.
"Release her!"
"Only she can release herself, and she does not want to." Nehelenia replied.
"Then we'll end the source behind all this." Phoenix said, spinning one of her daggers.

"Purity Flame!"

Before the energy blast could hit, a wall of flower petals and stems rose up in front of Nehelenia shielding her. Phoenix groaned in disgust and charged at Nehelenia with Jupiter right behind her. They did not get far before Nehelenia struck them both with lightning, sending them flying backwards.

"Is this girl even worth risking your lives for?" Nehelenia asked.
"Yes, she is." Phoenix replied, struggling to get to her feet.
"Why? She just whines and complains about everything."
"That's not true." Jupiter said, slowly getting up.
"What?"
"Usagi cares about everyone, no matter who they are, or what they did to her or her friends. Didn't you have any friends?"
"She is a true friend, and I would gladly die, if it meant saving her."
"Hmph. I never had anyone care for me, so why should I care about her?" Nehelenia demanded.

With that, Nehelenia sent a bolt of black lightning at Usagi. Jupiter and Phoenix quickly shielded Usagi, taking the attack themselves. Nehelenia began to send bolt after bolt of lightning at them, and each time they protected Usagi. Finally, they could no longer stand it, and fell beside Usagi. As Jupiter's head hit the ground, one of her red rose earrings fell off and landed next to Usagi.

"It's now time for you to join the rest of your friends." Nehelenia announced, as mirrors appeared under Phoenix and Jupiter.

Phoenix struggled to get up, but was too exhausted, and fell back onto the mirror. She was then pulled inside the mirror, and placed into a nightmare sleep. Jasumin awoke to find that she was out of her Senshi uniform and that Setsuna was standing in front of her.

"Setsuna? What's going on?" Jasumin asked.

Setsuna merely beckoned Jasumin to come to her. As Jasumin moved in closer, Setsuna revealed one of Jasumin's daggers and plunged it into Jasumin's chest, as she grinned wickedly. Jasumin's last thought was that she couldn't believe that she had been betrayed by her own love. As her eyes closed, she awoke again. This time she found herself and Setsuna being helplessly tortured by Nehelenia. After a period of time, a new nightmare would begin, causing feelings of pain, helplessness and agony to the trapped Phoenix.

"Usagi…" Jupiter whispered, before she too was pulled into a mirror, and just like Phoenix, placed into a nightmare sleep.

Usagi looked at the rose earring. As she did so, images of Tuxedo Mask flashed through her mind.

"A red rose." Usagi murmured, "Mamo-chan?"

With those words, Usagi broke out of Nehelenia's spell. She picked up Jupiter's earring and stood up, facing a very shocked Nehelenia. The flower field shattered like a mirror, revealing the path to where Nehelenia was: the Dark Circus tent. Leading to the tent, there was a long staircase.

"So, you broke out of my spell." Nehelenia mused.
"Give me back my friends and Mamo-chan!" Usagi demanded.
"If you want them, come to my throne room. Can you reach them in time before dawn?"

Usagi ran towards the long staircase that led to the palace, but stopped as think vines covered with sharp thorns sprung up and covered the stairs. She stopped for a moment, then entered the vines and began to make her way through them."

"She's still coming, even with the thorns there." Nehelenia cursed as she watched Usagi through a mirror, "No matter, it will be too late for her when she gets here."
"Release Mamo-chan and our friends now!" A voice demanded behind Nehelenia.

Turning around, she saw that Chibi-Moon and Sailor Saturn had gotten past her traps and made it to her throne room. Saturn spun her Glaive and placed it under Nehelenia's throat, while Chibi-Usa ran to Mamoru's side and began to try to wake him up.

"Mamo-chan wake up! Mamo-chan please!" Chibi-Moon cried, holding onto Mamoru, as the intervals of her fading body slowly increased, as well as the duration.
"It's no use." Nehelenia said, "Even if you call to him harder, he won't hear you. You cannot free him unless you remove the piece of mirror from his eye."
"No." Chibi-Moon gasped, still clinging to Mamoru's shirt, fighting to stop her body from fading.
"Besides, did you think you got here by yourselves?" Nehelenia asked, "You are the final pieces of my plan to make the White Moon Princess suffer."

With that, Nehelenia vanished into a mirror and sent a shockwave, knocking Saturn backwards.

"Mamo-chan, if you don't wake up, I'll disappear." Chibi-Moon sobbed.
"Chibi-Moon…" Saturn murmured softly, as Nehelenia's laughter echoed throughout the room.
"Do you hate me enough to kill me?" Nehelenia asked, "Even if you do, it will not change anything. Anyone caught in my nightmare will never wake up, ever."

Saturn looked up and saw Nehelenia floating in a mirror above her.

"Mamo-chan please! I will disappear if you don't wake up!" Chibi-Moon pleaded, "I'll disappear!"

Mamoru apparently heard Chibi-Moon as his appeared to be fighting back slightly.

"Chibi-Moon call to him harder!" Saturn shouted, as Nehelenia sent black lighting down into Mamoru's eye, causing him to knock Chibi-Moon away.

"Silent Wall!"

Saturn formed a barrier with her Glaive around Mamoru, preventing the lightning from reaching him. As the lightning disappeared, Chibi-Moon saw that he was back to being stuck in the spell.

"I will take everything the White Moon Princess loves, her lover, her friends and Earth." Nehelenia said, appearing some distance away from Saturn, "I will show her my grudge from being sealed away in darkness."
"Very well then, if there is no other choice." Saturn announced, raising her Glaive, "I will eliminate you, and end this evil. In the name of Sailor Saturn, I will release the power of Death."
Nehelenia laughed at this. "Don't joke in desperation. Do you think I am ignorant? The power of Death is a double-edge sword. If you use it, you will die too. Go ahead and use it."
"That is my duty."
"You are willing to die along with me? You will waste your life!"
"I believe in our Princess."
"What?"
"The Princess is the light of our hope. I will not let you extinguish it."
"Not those eyes again, those eyes filled with determination!" Nehelenia said, as she sent black lightning at Saturn.

Saturn held her ground as she swung her Glaive downwards.

"Silent Glaive Surprise!"

A ball of purple-white energy formed around the Glaive, as the floor beneath Saturn cracked. Nehelenia backed away in fear, as there was a huge explosion. Outside, Usagi saw the explosion come from the circus tent, and increased her speed of crawling through the thorns. Inside, Nehelenia turned around, and saw Chibi-Moon holding the Glaive, stopping it from touching the ground.

"Don't…Saturn."
"Chibi-Moon!"
"Don't use the power. You'll die…"
"But!"
"Saturn, you told me to believe in the future of our Prince and Princess. Don't worry, they won't give up." Chibi-Moon explained, before falling to the ground.
"Chibi-Moon!" Saturn cried.

Saturn looked up, just as a bolt of lightning struck the Glaive out of Saturn's hands.

"I regarded you as easy to handle. I should have sealed you in a mirror long ago! My revenge on your Princess has just begun. See it, from inside a mirror!" Nehelenia said, sending a tunnel of energy at Saturn.

Saturn screamed once, and then vanished, before reappearing again inside a mirror, unable to move. The mirror floated in the air, as other mirrors appeared, each holding a trapped Senshi inside. Each of them could only watch and listen helplessly from within the mirror.

"I'll show you all the sad image of your Princess." Nehelenia announced.
"Nehelenia!" Usagi's voice called out.

Turning around, Nehelenia saw Usagi reach the top step and enter the throne room, before collapsing.

"Welcome White Moon Princess. I commend you on making it to my palace. Unfortunately, you are too late."
"Too late?"
"Those captured by my nightmares are now completely controlled." Nehelenia explained, as she sat down in her throne, "Soon, it will be dawn, and then they will never wake up."

Usagi looked up and saw the Chibi-Moon lying on the ground, her body nearly faded away.

"Chibi-Usa are you ok?" Usagi cried as she ran over to her.
"Usagi…" Chibi-Usa murmured, her body was now nearly transparent.
"Chibi-Usa, hang on!" Usagi said, picking her up in her arms.
"Usagi…I couldn't save Mamo-chan. I'm ok though…because I believe in you."
"Chibi-Usa!" Usagi cried, as Chibi-Usa rested her head on Usagi's chest.

Usagi watched as Chibi-Usa finally faded away in her arms.

"No!" Usagi sobbed, "Chibi-Usa!"
"Poor thing. The girl, the fruit of your love has also disappeared." Nehelenia said, with mock sympathy, "Feel the sorrow, the agony. The nightmare never ends."
"What did Chibi-Usa do? What did she do to you?" Usagi demanded, looking up at Nehelenia with anger in her eyes.
Nehelenia's face lit up as she saw the anger, "Beautiful eyes. Do you hate me? Then hate me even more. Take a look behind you."

Usagi turned around and gasped. There behind her were the other Senshi, her friends, trapped inside mirrors, with one mirror in the middle left empty.

"Everyone!" Usagi gasped.
"Everyone who has followed you is now under my curse. You are the only one left."
"Why have you done these terrible things?"
"To exact my revenge on you. To make you feel the same solitude I felt. How does it feel? Painful? You have been loved and brought up by many from the past to the present, and even into the future. It must be hard to take in."

Nehelenia then began to tell Usagi how she had found the mirror. How it promised her eternal beauty and friendship. It was the reason that she stole the dream mirrors, to keep her beauty. She remembered how she was sealed away by the White Moon Kingdom, how she lost the mirror, and was forced to be left alone in darkness and solitude.

"Can't you see that this was all your fault for sealing me away in that mirror?!" Nehelenia shouted, standing up.

With that, Nehelenia began to strike Usagi with black lightning, sending her flying across the room, into pillars and the wall. The Senshi could see everything that was happening and were powerless to do anything about it.

"Now my revenge shall be complete." Nehelenia said, as she walked over to where Usagi was, "This long-lasting grudge and hatred will finally be sated."

Nehelenia bent down and grabbed Usagi by the throat, lifted her into the air and began to choke her.

"Now die, suffering in agony."

Usagi gasped for breath, then looked into Nehelenia's face with sympathy and sadness as tears ran down her cheek. Nehelenia stopped choking in surprise.

"Stop! Stop looking at me with those sympathetic eyes." She whimpered, and resumed choking.

Usagi did not stop, and continued to look at Nehelenia.

"I said stop!" Nehelenia cried, now using both hands to choke Usagi, "Stop looking at me! Stop it!"

Unable to stand it, Nehelenia threw Usagi onto the floor and hid her face.

"Don't look at me with those sympathetic eyes. You must dislike me, hate me!" Nehelenia whimpered.
"If I were you…I couldn't live alone." Usagi said, "I probably…couldn't have endured the solitude like you."
"Don't talk to me like you know everything!" Nehelenia replied, "You can never know the solitude I endured."
"You might…be right." Usagi replied, "But even if…you do this…nothing will change."
"What?"
"Therefore you must take your revenge only on me." Usagi announced, as she stood up, "Give me back my friends, please. They understand, they will become your friends. Now, take your revenge on me."

Nehelenia was surprised at Usagi's words.

"Then…as you wish…" Nehelenia began, as she got ready to strike, until a gold glow appeared behind her.

Turning around she saw that it was coming from Mamoru. As she watched, the mirror fragment inside Mamoru's eye floated out, and disappeared, releasing Mamoru from the curse.

"No way…does this mean my curse is broken?" gasped Nehelenia.

As if in reply, the mirrors holding the Senshi shattered, and they reappeared around Nehelenia and Usagi. A trail of light appeared beside Mamoru as Chibi-Usa reappeared and took Mamoru's hand.

"Chibi-Usa…Mamo-chan…everyone." Usagi murmured, looking at everyone.
"We know." Mars replied.
"You can still make it before dawn." Jupiter added.
"If we unite our power, definitely…we can definitely do it again." Usagi agreed.

Each of the Senshi closed their eyes and began to unite their powers as the new moon appeared above them in the sky.

"What's going on?" Nehelenia asked, as she looked at each of the Senshi.

Out of fear, Nehelenia began to attack everyone with black lightning. Each of them screamed as it hit them, but held their ground. Mamoru protected Chibi-Usa with himself as he changed into his prince armor. Nehelenia stopped attacking and looked around at everyone surrounding her, as each of the gems in the Senshi's tiaras began to glow.

"Don't be afraid."
"You're not alone anymore."
"No one can stay alone with a cold heart."
"Please…open your heart to us."
"You can atone for your sins."
"Have the courage within you."
"Believe in yourself."
"You can become pure again."
"Believe in us."
"Believe in Usagi."

Usagi's broach began to shine, as it permanently changed into its eternal shape, and Usagi transformed into Eternal Sailor Moon.

"Can you feel everyone's heart? The energy that we have gathered for you?" Sailor Moon asked, as she held out the scepter.

The scepter elongated into a staff, as it began to send energy up into the moon.

"Please recall your real dream, the dream you had when you were a child." Sailor Moon said.
"My…real…dream?" Nehelenia asked as she looked at the moon reappearing, "I remember. I was looking for friends. I wanted a lover and friends who could understand me. Could I do it all over again?"

As the full moon reappeared, the mirror that Nehelenia had loved shattered, as both Nehelenia and the Dark Circus tent vanished.

A young Nehelenia awoke as she sat on the throne in front of her subjects. "Was I asleep?"
"Yes Your Highness, but just for a moment." One the attendants replied, "Perhaps you should take a rest in your room."
Nehelenia agreed, and got off the throne beginning to head to her room when she stopped. "Could one of you read me a bedtime story?"
"It would be my pleasure." The attendant replied, and followed a happy Nehelenia back to her room.

Sailor Moon and the others stood on a plateau where there tent had once been, looking into the sky as the sun appeared.

"It's over. No, it's just the beginning for her." Mamoru said.
"I hope she'll be happy." Chibi-Moon added.
"I think she will be." Phoenix replied, as she took Pluto's hand.
"Oh that's right…Jupiter." Sailor Moon began.
"What is it?"
"Here." Usagi replied, as she held out her hand with the rose earring in it.
"That's my…"
"Thank you." Usagi said.

At Usagi's house, Luna, Artemis and Diana watched the sunrise.

"Usagi-chan and the others seemed to have made it, didn't they?" Luna asked.
"A dream is only for the night. In the morning, a new day begins." Artemis replied.
"Right." Diana agreed.

Somewhere above the Earth, someone else was watching, and began to laugh with glee.
Here is part 8 of Phoenix.

I realized in the last part that I wasn't putting the full focus of the story on where it should be. Knowing that, I have hopefully placed the story back on track, while still keeping to the original storyline. Tell me what you think it so far.

The final showdown with Usagi and Nehelenia. Who will win, and why does Nehelenia want revenge on Usagi so badly?

Once again, enjoy, comment, and fave.

Sailor Moon belongs to its rightful owners. Jasumin/Phoenix belongs to me.
